Week 75

This weekend our end of the street was extremely busy.  We worked on painting, finishing the siding up and the porches.  There was also sub contractors working also.  The electricians and counter tops installers was working.  We got power on in 3 houses and almost all the lights installed on 5.  The most exciting thing was having two people, Alfredo and Angela, came out to teach us how to install tile.  So the tile work was started.  Here is a lot of photos of what we have got accomplished so far:

We ended our weekend with a meeting.  Facio answered any questions that we had about the working that we were doing and the subcontractors were doing.  This week the counter tops will continue to be installed and the electrician will continue to work in our homes.  The grading of the property is to start. Also, he wants us to continue to push and work hard to finish the homes.  We are so close to finishing.

Prayer Requests:

  • strength and endurance: so we can finish strong
  • sub contractors completely their work
  • volunteers to help us finish up quickly
  • We are so thankful to all the friends that have came out to help us get where we are.  Every week different people come out to help us.  It is amazing.

I was able to talk to a few of the neighbors that live on around the block from us.  They all tell me how pleased they are with how the homes are turning out.  They have told me that they have seen how hard we work each week to complete our homes.  I believe in the beginning they were unsure about the program, but now they are impressed by what we have accomplished. I look forward to be able to sit on our front porch and visit with the neighbors.  God has given us a beautiful home with great neighbors.  He has used this time to grow friendships and deepen my relationship with Him.  I praise God for everything.

Psalm 33

33 Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
For the word of the Lord is upright,
And all His work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And by the breath of His mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
The plans of His heart from generation to generation.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
13 The Lord looks from heaven;
He sees all the sons of men;
14 From His dwelling place He looks out
On all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who fashions the hearts of them all,
He who understands all their works.
16 The king is not saved by a mighty army;
A warrior is not delivered by great strength.
17 horse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope for His lovingkindness,
19 To deliver their soul from death
And to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart rejoices in Him,
Because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us,
According as we have hoped in You.
