Week 59

Saturday morning, we started with our usual meeting.  Debbie did her safety meeting, then Facio updated us on where the houses are at with inspections and sub contractors.  He then told us we would be focusing on getting the first 3 houses ready for the stucco.  He hopes that the sub contractor would be out this week.  Lupe, Paula, Patricia, and Steve focused on getting lot 8's shingles on.  Carlos and John focused on doing the trim work on lot 8's porch.  Jackie, Maria, and Luisa worked on doing blocking for siding.  Brandon painted his fascia. Leticia worked on wrapping the houses for stucco. Debbie, Deena, David, Ian, and I worked on windows.  Delilah, Jesseyna, and Evelyn painted Debbie's fascia.  Tony, Andy, Robert and the crew he brought out worked on shingling lot 17.  Chad (Pat's fill in) and Michael worked on finishing the shingles on lot 7 (Deena's house) and starting the garage.

It is great to see progress being made on the houses.  We only have 3 1/2 houses that need windows.  We have 2 homes completely shingled and 2 homes close.  It is helping have families recruit friends to help with the roofing.  Thank you to all the people that came out this weekend to help.  We would not be this far along if it was not for your help.

We still have a long ways to go to get the homes completed, but as each house gets the shingles on I can see progress.  John, Debbie, and I are planning on working on put the shingles on our homes this Labor day.  If you want to help, we are starting at 7:30 am.  Please let us know if you can come out.

Prayer Requests:
1) Facio and Toby wisdom on how to lead our group
2) Subcontractor to come out and finish their work
3) We pass inspections
4) Endurance, strength, health, and patience.  We have a lot of work ahead.

Psalm 63:1-8

The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

63 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly;
My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You,
In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches,
For You have been my help,
And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
My soul clings to You;
Your right hand upholds me.

Week 58

Saturday, we started with our safety meeting.  Facio then let us know that all the houses have passed inspection and can be roofed.  All of the roofing material will be delivered this next week.  Also, the first three houses (lots 6-8) need to be finished so that the stucco sub contractor can start.  So most of us will be working on those homes.  Lots 10 and 11 are waiting for the HVAC sub contractor to finish his work, so we can have the framing and mechanical inspected.  They have passed plumbing inspection.  Lots 12-17 need to have the subs finish their work.  Facio then gave us all of our jobs for the day.  John and Richard (filling in for Pat) were to go hang the doors on lot 6 and then fix some framing for the garage doors on lot 7 and 10.  Lupe was to install the corbels on lot 6 and 8.  Alfredo and Robert were to continue the roofing on lot 7.  Patricia, Paul, and Steve were to continue roofing lot 8. Carlos and Brandon were to continue on the trims on lot 6. Debbie, Deena, and I were to continue hanging windows.  Jacob and Michael were to add strapping to lot 16. Jackie, Leticia, Maria, Evelyn, Delilah, Jesseyna, Naty, and Luisa worked on blocking and wrapping the house for stucco. (I think)

This was a hot weekend.  We just kept pushing on with roofing, windows, porches, and pick up work. I am amazed the people on roofing kept working even though it was hot.  We were blessed with many people coming out and helping us this weekend.  Thank you for all of your hard work.  God has blessed us with great friends and families that come out and help us.

Psalm 117
