Week 74

This week the sub contractor continued to come out and work on our homes.  The stucco and drywall were finished on the last of the house.  The cabinets continued to be installed.  The electrician is making his way around to the different houses.

Saturday was a cold wet and rainy day. We started with our meeting with Facio. Phil joined us.  He told us that everyone that comes out to look at our project think that it looks very good and we are doing good work.  He also needed help sorting the tile by homes.  After that we all got to go work in our own homes.  YEAH!  Everyone worked on window sills, painting, caulking, or installing doors.

During break Sheryl came out to remind us to pay our property taxes and let us know about paperwork that was needed from us.  She also answered questions that people had.

On Sunday it was cold.  It was 23 degrees when we started.  We all went back to working on siding and front porch rails.  The pictures are all from Sunday.

We are making a lot of progress, but still have a lot to complete.  It is exciting to hear that our wood laminate will be delivered in two weeks and that we will start laying tile soon.  Hopefully, we all put in extra hours to get the interior of our homes complete.

Pray Requests:
  • volunteers will continue to come out to help us finish our homes
  • we all stay healthy
  • the sub contractors will do good work and complete it quickly
The hardest thing for me right  now is not worrying about all the little things that I see that need to be done around our home or buy when we move in.  I have a list and each week I work on it, but it does not seem like the list is getting any shorter.  I add as many items as I check off each week.  My goal this week is not stress, not worry, pray, and trust God.

Matthew 6:25-34

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Cure for Anxiety

25 For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Lamentations 3:21-23

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

21 This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
22 The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
