Work Week 30

Saturday morning started with our usual meeting.  After we did our safety meeting, Facio took sign up for the framing contest, on Monday, February 18.  We will have five supervisors out each working on a different house with a crew of approximately of 12 people.  It will be a mixture of people from our group and other volunteers.  It should be exciting to watch.  After the sign ups where complete, we got to work.

Some worked on a corner in Brandon and Patricia's house.

 By Saturday night, we had Evelyn's house framed.  Only have of Steve and Maria's house to finish chalking out.  Deena's house plated.  Lupe's house ready to frame.

On Sunday morning we all went back to our work.  Here we are adding the closet in the fourth bedroom on John and my house.

 The framing crew moved over to Lupe's house to start framing.

 Deena, Patricia, Lupe, Debbie, Coco, and I started marking out Deena's house for framing.

We had a lot of help this weekend.  Leticia brought out members from her family.  Jackie and Carlos brought out volunteers.  Toby (another supervisor) came out and helped. Hopefully, we will have all the houses plated by next weekend and marked out.  Those of us on the marking out and plating crews are looking forward to helping out with the framing.  It is fun to be at point in the project where you can see what you accomplish each week.

Each week gets more exciting.  I am tired at times, but I know each hour we work on the houses means we are one step closer to moving in.   I keep trusting God to give me the strength and energy to do all that is required of me. I read these scriptures this week and they helped me.

Psalm 117

A Psalm of Praise.
117 Praise the Lord, all nations;
Laud Him, all peoples!
2 For His lovingkindness is great toward us,
And the truth of the Lord is everlasting.
Praise the Lord!

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth
Does not become weary or tired.
His understanding is inscrutable.
29 He gives strength to the weary,
And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30 Though youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.

Prayer Request:

1)  Accuracy in all the work we do and speed. We are behind schedule and need to make a lot of time so we can get in close to one year.

2) Group harmony.

3) Safety for everyone.

4) Framing Competition that we get all five homes framed in three hours.
