Week 62

We started Saturday with our morning meeting.  Phil joined us.  He is the superintendent of the self help housing program we are doing.  We were told that we put over 900 hours in last week. Thank you to all the people that came out to help us get so much done. Phil said that is the most he had ever seen.  The office had Facio tell us that we did a great job.  Facio then handed out papers for us to pick our garage doors.  We had a choice of three styles and then we had to choose how the window would look.  We were told that we will be getting samples of counters and flooring to choose from soon.  It is so exciting to finally get to this part of the project.  Facio then gave out job assignments.  The jobs this week were adding siding to lot 6, the front porch on lot 9, roofing lot 11, adding finish boards to the garage on lot 10, measuring for cabinets with Phil, adding vents, painting lot 16 eaves, and adding the trim on lot 9.

John and I went on vacation this week with the family.  It was such a bless to go away.  Our friends own a cabin and they let us go stay there for 4 days.  This was just what we needed after working so many hours on the house the previous week. It was such fun to spend time with the kids. We had a great time kayaking on the lake, playing games, sitting by the campfire, and hiking.  God's creation is so beautiful.

95 O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord,
Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
